You might not have FU money but I bet you’ve got this

I aspire to have FU money.  

You know the kind of money where you feel the freedom to make decisions not based on money.  

That number would be different for almost everyone.  

One of my favorite podcast recently talked about FU money.  But added a little wrinkle.

Shaan Puri the host had a hypothesis that we all have a FU superpower.  

Meaning, we all have a strength that gives us FU confidence in one area.

Here is a great example. My mom has FU optimism. 

Shit could be going bad. I mean like really bad. 

Like the-dog-just-died-got-in-car-accident-and-shit-my-pants kind of bad.

And my mom would be like “it can’t get any worse and you can only go up from here.  And think about all the things you do have (I guess I didn’t shit on my t-shirt). 

And it serves here really well. She is a friend to everyone, she is celebrating 50 years of marriage and made major career changes late in her career including becoming a certified yoga instructor. She has FU optimism!

Or you can FU health.  Like you are the fittest mother fucker out there.  A real David Goggins.  You can run for miles, swim across the English channel with a heart rate of 50 kind of fit. This superpower has made David Goggins a successful writer, influencer and pop culture badass.

Or can have FU stoicism…you might be unflappable no matter the situation. This would be a great one for a dad with young kids.

Or my dad has FU dependability.  You ask him to do something and you can guarantee it’s done before the words leave your mouth.

For me, I have FU hard-headedness.  If you tell me I can’t do something I sure as hell will figure it out. This strength has always served me well. Meredith told me I couldn’t rehab an apartment and make it an Airbnb. I think she would admit I proved her wrong.
